This was taken in the depth of winter when I should have been tucked up in bed!. I had promised someone that I would take her 13 year old son out to do a landscape for his birthday treat (poor lad). The plan was to show him the art of landscape photography and give him a print as a momento. This is the image. The weather forecast didn't bode well as it promised a clear sky.
in the end I was pleased with this shot as I had informed him while it was still dark that this would work well. Once the light hit the foreground grass I knew we had the shot. The sun was so low however, that I had to resort to using the self timer to get the shot. This gave us 10 seconds to run far enough over to the right hand side for our shadow not to be in the image.
